The founder of Kyokushin Karate, late Sosai Masutatsu Oyama, became very famous in Japan.
He also wrote a “Karate Bible” called “WHAT IS KARATE”.
This was printed in English, and this was one of the tools for introducing Kyokushin Karate to the world.
Sosai Oyama created one of the largest organizations in the world for full-contact karate

The special thing with Kyokushjn Karate is the philosophy of Masutatsu Oyama.
On these were the fullcontact rules created upon.
This was a new concept with rules close to reality, which made the tournament
fighting real. Not unly the audience, but also the fighters themselves.
This made a Budo Art that originated from Japan to become a Budo Art popular amongst the western countries.

The founder of Kyokushin Karate, Mas. Oyama passed away 1994, however, the three guidelines or motto, made up by Sosai Oyama are still working as the motto of
Kyokushin Karate:

Educating the young generation
International exchange
Contribution to society

Today`s International Karate Organization, Kyokushinkaikan is continuing to work according to the above motto.

In today`s Japan , we are facing several problems such as children refusing to go to school,
severe teasing amongst school friends and others, violence amongst yuong people, and many other problem.
To solve these kind of problems Budo, with it`s mentality and spirit becomes an important
factor, and Kyokushinkaikan is making efforts to solve these kind of problems.

The spirit of Bushido is used to be descibed in five words:

humanity
loyalty
encourage
courtesy
trust

Kyokushin Karate can also be descibed with these words.

Develop your own strength and be kind to others is probably what most parents want
from their children.
However, today It is not easy educate the human people in moral questions.
Probably that is why we today, can see a tremendous increase of young new comers to the Kyokushin Dojos in Japan.
Kyokushin is working hard to contribute to the education of the younger generation.
Every year, the All Japan junior Tournament is held.
This tournament has become a big goal for time younger ones to work for.
